Nalle goes swimming with us!



Every Tuesday we go swimming with Nalle. Here we are in front of the leisure centre.

Joka tiistai Nalle tulee mukaan uimaan meidän kanssa. Tässä olemme uimahallin edessä.

Tässä ylitämme Barnstaplen vanhaa siltaa.

Here we are next to the clock tower at the town square in Barnstaple. "This is not quite as big as the Big Ben in London!" whispered Nalle.

Tässä olemme Barnstaplen kellotornin edessä, kaupungintorilla. ”Ei aivan yhtä iso kuin Big Ben Lontoossa!”  tuumasi Nalle.

Nalle having lunch at school!

 

We get to pick whether we have packed lunch or school dinners. We also have lots of dinner ladies and people to help us. If you have a packed lunch you usually have a sandwich, fruit, a small bag of crisps and maybe a chocolate bar. If you have school dinners on Wednesday we have roast dinners (roast potatoes, vegetables, gravy and meat) and  on Friday you have fish and chips.

Me saamme valita haluammeko syödä koulussa omia eväitä vai kouluruokaa. Meillä on useita keittäjiä ja muita henkilöitä auttamassa meitä. Jos olet tuonut omat eväät, mukana on usein voileipä, hedelmä, pieni sipsipussi ja ehkäpä suklaapatukka. Jos syöt koulun keittiön ruokaa, keskiviikkoisin ruokana on paistilounas (paistettuja perunoita, kasviksia, paistikastiketta ja lihaa) ja perjantaisin "fish and chips" eli kalaa ja ranskiksia.

A trip to St Anne’s chapel

Last week we went to St Anne’s chapel. A long time ago it was a grammar school. We took Nalle with us. We met a guide and an artist. The guide showed us around the chapel. He showed us an old classroom that Victorian and Edwardian children went to. Downstairs we learnt how to do 3D sketching with the artist.

Vierailu Pyhän Anna kappeliin

Viime viikolla menimme Pyhän Annan kappeliin. Kauan aikaa sitten se oli oppikoulu. Otimme Nallen mukaan. Tapasimme oppaan ja taiteilijan. Opas näytti meille kappelia. Hän näytti meille vanhan luokkahuoneen, jossa kuningatar Viktorian ja kuningas Edwardin aikaiset lapset opiskelivat. Alakerrassa opimme taiteilijan johdolla kuinka luonnostellaan kolmiulotteisia  piirrustuksia.

Hello, let us introduce you to Kingfisher class!

In our class there are 14 boys and 16 girls. We are ages 9-10 and we are Year 4-5. Our teacher is called Miss Trimming a.k.a  Miss T. She is very kind and helpful. We are a happy class. Our school is called Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School. Our school has 7 classes and we have a head Teacher called Miss Dunne. She is very generous and always puts a smile on everyone’s face. We live in Barnstaple, which is a small town in North Devon, England.

The Teddy that we are sending to you is called King Spot-a-lot Spike. His short name is Spike. Spike has a little teddy called Mini Spotty. Please take extra care of this cute teddy. We are looking forward to seeing the adventures Spike is going to have!

Hei, esittelemme sinulle luokan nimeltään Kingfisher (Kuningaskalastaja)!

Meidän luokassa on 14 poikaa ja 16 tyttöä. Me olemme 9-10 –vuotiaita, ja käymme 4-5 –luokkaa. Meidän opettajamme nimi on Neiti Trimming, joka tunnetaan myös nimellä Neiti T. Hän on hyvin kiltti ja auttavainen. Me olemme iloinen luokka. Koulumme nimi on Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School (Neitsyt Marian katolinen alakoulu). Meidän koulussa on 7 luokkaa, ja rehtorimme nimi on Neiti Dunne. Hän on reilu ja saa kaikki hymyilemään! Me asumme pienessä kaupungissa, Barnstaplessa, Englannissa.

Pehmolelu, jonka lähetämme teille on nimeltään King Spot-a-lot Spike (Täplikäs Kuningas Piikki). Sen lempinimi on Spike (Piikki). Sillä on mukanaan pieni pehmolelu, jota kutsumme Mini-Täpläksi. Pitäkää erityistä huolta tästä suloisesta pehmosta. Me odotamme innolla pääsevämme seuraamaan Piikin seikkailuja!
